The program supports temporary public art projects that celebrate creativity, enhance urban identity, encourage public-private collaborations, and strengthen local economies.
The City of Jackson Long Range Planning Team created the proposal to host a city-wide exhibition with art installations and performances that promote dialogue about issues related to food access. The artwork explores topics of food policy, food sovereignty, nutrition, domestic hunger, and the agrarian landscape. Mississippi has a complex relationship with food. During slavery and sharecropping periods food was used as a tool of control. Today urban food swamps and food deserts are another form of control. InJackson was named the fattest city in America, unpacking what that means is critical to the project. That means Jackson is ranked in the top percentile for lacking access to healthy food, low fruit and vegetable consumption, diabetes, high blood pressure, and physically inactive adults.
The Department of Planning and Development is using the Fertile Ground Project as a research tool to better inform policy decisions, community engagement, and future development for delivering better urban food access. Change takes place from the ground up. If we want to see change, we have to plant seeds. When we plant seeds we are in charge of our future. When we are in charge of our future we are truly free. This mural illustrates the process of a food system where we are in control.
From the fertile soil to the freshness of summer vegetables, this work is meant to remind us that when we take control over our own food, we take control over our own future. The mural demonstrates the process of food from the ground to the harvest to the plate. Canon Red Epic S Robby was great! I'll definitely be renting from him again.Still influenced by the synth-pop of the 80s, the track sounds less immediate and poppy than the two previous offerings.

But opting out of some of these cookies may have an effect on your browsing experience.Just over five years ago, Belhaven University art student Robby Piantanida borrowed a camera and equipment to shoot a short film for his college film festival.
Today, the year-old makes his living producing video and motion-graphics projects in the Jackson area as the owner of Borrowed Productions. And yes, he still occasionally has to borrow equipment. On a day-to-day basis, standard jobs for Piantanida are commercial and music video shoots, with occasional work in logo animation, motion graphics and short films.
But beyond the jobs that pay the bills, he has big dreams for the future of his company. Asked whether his dream might take him out of Jackson, the filmmaker shakes his head.
Besides, the experience of a local or low-budget shoot is addicting--moms providing the food, the crew inventing props.
I love it.
Lower Dens release new music video for ‘Hand of God’
It's a very tactile experience. Bridgestone Media Group selected the film for distribution. This year, Piantanida debuts his documentary "Jackson Is Art," which follows the art education of attendees at a Jackson Community Design Center summer camp, and two music videos. As an artist and a businessman, Piantanida is ready to accept and adjust to whatever opportunities come his way.
It just comes down to how you act on your life. If anything can be said for Piantanida's outlook on life, it's that he always has room for one more dream. Don't fail at your dream of being an astronaut if you really want to be an astronaut. For examples of Piantanida's work, visit his website at borrowedproductions.

Graham Alexander : Growing up in East Texas, I have always been fascinated by and interested in the rural farming and ranching life. It is poetic, and I feel we have forgotten just how beautiful the tie between a family and their land really is.
CM : The Sound of a Dirt Road is noteworthy for its well-written screenplay and the manner in which it engages the emotions of its audience. What is your background in screenwriting and writing in general?
Have you studied screenwriting indepth? GA : I have studied many scripts, in terms of structure and content. I have also read a few books on writing screenplays, but they are not as helpful as just sitting down and writing screenplays.Tlauncher multiplayer with friends
I wrote many screenplays when I was in junior high and high school most of them horrendously embarrassing. Learning to write well is a process; it is a craft that can only be honed by many trials and errors. I feel that I still am and always will be in the process of learning to write well. CM : You refrain from telling your audience what you want them to feel while watching your film, while causing them to feel what you want through the use of subtlety, character development, contrast, and sparse dialogue.Crane truck 3d model free download
Is it difficult to do this well? GA : Too many films use dialogue as a crutch by telling audiences what they should know or feel. I believe that it is more impacting to an individual, as well as an audience, to show what they should be feeling. Honestly, I do believe this is very difficult. If it is not done well, a good idea will become a disaster. Although not necessary, I do believe it is a sharper and stronger element of storytelling.
CM : Was the original score, written by Taylor Davis, donated or purchased? GA: Taylor Davis composed the score for free, because he is beginning to experiment with scoring films. It was a joy and honor to get to work with Taylor, for his talent and vision for the film was an invaluable asset.
CM : The most blatantly comic moment of the film is seen when Robby Piantanida plays Clarence in the hardware store. When I was still in the writing process, my biggest prayer was that God would deliver one person that would care about this film project as much as I did, so that we could get this project accomplished.
My close friend, Ross Renfroe our main actorintroduced me to Robby and told me he was very interested in helping out.
Robby was the man God sent, for he was an extremely vital part of getting our vision accomplished. He thoroughly enjoyed the script and pushed all of us to complete the production phase of The Sound of a Dirt Road. The one scene that Robby is in has a funny story to it: the actor that was originally going to play Clarence had a scheduling conflict. Therefore, moments before we had to shoot the scene, Robby shaved everything but his mustache, donned on the hardware store apron and delivered quite a comedic performance.
Is it inherently negative that independent Christian filmmakers often have to wear so many hats, or can some do it well? GA : Naturally, extremely low-budget independent filmmakers find themselves donning many hats to get their vision accomplished. However, if filmmakers have an opportunity to delegate responsibility to others, it is in their best interest to let others help.
There is a difference between wearing many hats because there is no one else, and wearing many hats because you are extremely controlling and individualistic about the project. Humility and community effort are two significant things that beginning independent filmmakers must learn. CM : Do you plan to fill as many roles during your next film project?
